Dampers
|
|

#1310
Small square shut-off damper. This cast iron
damper from Finland fits perfectly in an 8" x 8" outside dimension
clay or refractory flue tile liner. Inside opening measures
6.3" x 6.3". Damper handle can be easily shortened. The frame
does not extend through the brick work on Finnish dampers
so we generally use a piece of stone to bridge over the handle.

#05158-N
Steel broadside-pull damper/frame/lintel/coverplate.
(Broad pull). This is the same damper as #05190-N (see
below) with the opening coming out the side rather than the
end. Fits 8" x 12" and 9" x 13" flue tiles.
$210.00
|
#05190-N
Steel end-pull damper/frame/lintel/coverplate.
(Narrow pull). This all-steel damper is made in Maine
by good friend of ours. The damper fits standard and modular
(8" x 12" / 9" x 13") flue tile liners and pulls from the
narrow end of the flue through one course of brick. The
extended damper frame doubles as a lintel. We install ours
with a 1/4" strip of mineral wool below and above the lintel
frame portion to allow for movement, then attach the adjustable
depth cover plate so no big gaps in the masonry are visible.
A small cut-out in the end of the damper allows carbon monoxide
to escape.
$210.00
NOTE: For double-bricked walls or stone-veneered work
we can have dampers, handles, and channels custom-made to
any length. |

#1132

New cooktop. This is the new standard
large cooktop from Finland. Smooth sides and rear allow masonry
to align exactly with edges or have an overlap for a ceramic
or stone tile border. A large overhanging lip on the front
locks in the new oven and loading door lipped frame tops for
a long term, trouble-free, secure fit. New longer safety bar
keeps kids and hands away from hot cooktop and doubles as
towel rack.
With three hot plates. 1075mm x 660mm (42
1/4 " x 26") weight 43.5 kg.

Moisture Meter

The "Moistec 2 in 1" moisture meter offers two functions. It is a
miniature device for the measurement of moisture in wood
or in building materials.
These are particularly handy since most masonry heaters and
and wood fired ovens require wood with not more than a
20% moisture content.

Freight costs:
As a courtesy to our customers, we ship all large orders by common
carrier on a "pre-paid" basis, with a 65% discount from
retail prices. We will need to have a credit card number in advance
of shipping for orders to go prepaid. Otherwise orders will be
sent freight collect. This will mean 20% added to the freight
bill by the freight company, and the client will need to have
a cashier's or bank check ready for the driver at time of delivery.
We ESTIMATE the weight of each shipment that leaves MWH and can
quote these estimates to each client, but we cannot guarantee
the final bill, unless the weight can be precisely confirmed by
the trucking company. In most instances, the estimate we give
is relatively accurate.
In the event that we cannot work out a prepaid freight charge
arrangement with our clients, the materials can be sent freight
collect, which is a more expensive solution.
Common Carriers typically deliver large pallets to customers
who have a forklift capability. A good solution for many of our
customers is to arrange delivery of their freight to a local business
with a forklift. Once delivered, the customer can pick up the
freight with a pickup truck or trailer at their own convenience.
If you wish the freight delivered to your home or job location,
be sure to have available access for a 40' freight truck and a
forklift or 1-2 able bodied persons to unload the items without
a forklift. The items will have to be uncrated and carefully unloaded
piece by piece from the rear of the big truck.
We can happily instruct the trucker to give our clients notice
of delivery a day ahead. There is a charge by the trucking company
for this call.
Please work out any special freight needs with us well in advance
and we will do everything we can to help you organize the successful
receipt of your purchases.
