1. The Finnish Fireplace Construction Manual, ©1984, with a 2006 Update. Finnish Fireplace Construction Manual was written in 1984 and updated in 1988. This is the only complete English language primer on hand-made masonry heater construction. The text covers from footing to chimney top and everything in between. It is complemented by step-by-step photos, course-by-course drawings, section drawings and elevations.

2. The AlbieCore™ Construction Manual, © 1995. This manual is fully illustrated with scale drawings and step-by-step color photos of five different heaters using the AlbieCore™ kit. The heaters include three brick heaters in rectangular, five-sided, and six-sided formats, as well as a cut granite cobblestone heater and a hand-made soapstone heater, the last two each having heated benches. This manual is highly recommended for anyone wishing to build with a core kit system.

3. Russian Fireplace Plan, © 1981, updated in 1992. Utilizes horizontal baffles, including two-story and bake-oven options.

4. Finnish Masonry Cookstove Plans, © 1983, updated in 1992, 1995.
Includes new instructions and drawings for cookstoves using the new larger cooktop and modular loading and oven doors. Recent additions include new step-by-step, highly annotated photos of the cookstove construction process. The tradition is back! We build more and more cookstoves in combination with heaters every year.

5. Finnish Fireplaces: Heart of the Home by Heikki Hyytiainen and Albert Barden, © 1988.
Full of color photos of a wide variety of Finnish Fireplaces. This book is an in-depth study of Finnish Fireplace history, design, performance, layout, health benefits and aesthetic options. It is a must for owner-builders and anyone trying to properly incorporate a masonry heater or cooker-heater complex in a new home.

Finnish Fireplaces Heart of the Home is now out of print and no longer available. We are currently waiting for a new book soon to be published.

6. Finnish Fireplace Top Exit Construction Manual, ©2006. The Top Exit Construction Manual offers step-by-step instruction with color photos for the construction of a Finnish Fireplace with a flue exit located on the top of the heater.

7. Supplemental Construction Manuals. For years we have documented most of our projects with a step-by-step color photo series for file reference.
